Chelsea: Ekphrastic Poem: American Gothic

American Gothic

Under pressure every day, to make it through, struggling
This life is the only one I know
I won’t give up
Strained to make the money, to produce
This farm is the only one I know
I won’t give up
America gave me freedom, and free is what I am
America is all that I know
I won’t give up
